7.0.3 maintenance release fixes some problems with initial v7.0.0

Product: ALL
Version: v7.0.0
Platform: Linux, FreeBSD, BSDi, Solaris SPARC, Windows 2000/2003 (not IRIX)

I have ShopSite v7.0 and am experiencing some technical problems, are there any patches or new releases available?
Solution ID: S5487

Yes, a maintenance release is available (v7.0.3) The release addresses the issues listed below:

SHOPPING CART

* Shoppers may be repeatedly prompted to enter a zip code even if they have already done so when they attempt to check out. This problem only occurs in certain configurations of Personal Firewall and Privacy control utilities such as Norton Internet Security (NIS) or ZoneAlarm on the shopper's computer.

* ampersands in the Comments/More Information and Ordering Instructions fields, and semi-colons in those same fields and the per-product Customer Text Entry field, could cause the text entered to not be fully displayed on other shopping cart screens and in the View Orders screen of the backoffice.

* In ShopSite Pro a server error could occur when adding a product to the shopping cart if a large amount of data is stored in the product's 'extra fields'.

* fixed a situation where a 'None' option in the State pull-down would not be recognized as a valid option.

* added a couple of additional CSS style definitions to the shopping cart to resolve some address alignment issues.

* The JavaScript email address check was absent from the checkout screen (however, a check by the cart was still invoked.)

BACKOFFICE

* When saving some Preferences -> Store Text settings, text settings in other Store Text screens could be removed.

* Some page or product uploads (typically large ones) could hang or quit between the data import and linking phases.

* If the Orbital gateway is being used and if the shopper had input a credit card with more than 20 characters (counting spaces and numbers) the merchant would not be able to bill the order from within ShopSite.

* the billing and shipping name are not visible on the View Orders screen for orders placed before the upgrade to v7.

* ups.cgi will now link to products.cgi (to edit products that do not have a weight value) at its full URL rather than a relative URL. Relative linking could cause problems for some systems that need different permissions on executables that are run at the secure URL vs. the non-secure URL.

MISCELLANEOUS

* made text that appears on text email receipts for Digital Download products ('URL for downloading') configurable by the merchant.

* made text surrounding the search field ('Search' and 'GO') in new themes configurable by merchant.

* a product on the search results screen that is found on the first page of a paginated (new v7 Pro Pagination feature) page would link to that page with the wrong filename.

* adding HTML to certain text labels for the table of products that appears on the text email receipts could cause incomplete text email receipts.

* Include ISO character encoding in the XML header tag for version 7.0 XML downloads. This enables
diacritic (accented) characters to be accepted by strict XML parsers (will not affect XML downloads using the v6 format).

* fixed timeout when a ShopSite process can't get a system file lock on the database file that it needs to access.

TEMPLATES

* When using a custom template and ShopSite Pro's Pagination feature some of the regular Page links might not display on all paginated pages.

* added custom template tag to resolve 'illegal tag' message in the title bar of Customer Registration error screens, also made new text configurable by the merchant.

* minor change to the 'DefaultCustomProductTemplate' custom product template so that it can work with all built-in page templates.
