Wordpress plugin problems (again)

Postby silken » Sun Feb 08, 2015 5:03 pm

I updated the wordpress plugin and, although I was able to insert the tag, the product 'button' does not appear in my post. Not only that, but the buttons I had that were working have disappeared. This is very frustrating!

So I put it aside for a few hours and have now come back to it. Even worse! Now when I hit the shopsite button, instead of getting a list of products that match the sku, I get this:
Update ShopSite to see product images
semXYMar15
XingYi 6 Week Class Mar 2015

I don't need a product image, and can't think of why I would need to update shopsite! Any help?

Thanks in advance,
Debbie

OK, this is bizarre. After writing the above post, I went back to do some work on the site and found that two of the posts which, previously, had not had the shopsite plug-in registration button now, suddenly had them! I am using a belt-and-suspenders approach at this point, with both an add-anywhere button AND an insert from the plug-in. However, one of the posts still will not display the plug-in registration button.

Further, when I went back to search for a new sku using the plug-in, now each sku comes up in a grid (boxed) with a message to update shopsite to see the image (there are no images) but no link to 'insert' the product.

Whassup? Am I just going crazy? (don't answer that!)

After you do the search if double-click on a product does it then insert it into the post? The message to upgrade to see images refers to upgrading to our latest version of ShopSite (v12 sp1), not to the Plug-in, if you want the product's image displayed in the grid. We'll do an update to remove that message from the grid and just place it once somewhere else on the page.

Hi David,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, double-clicking does add it, thank you. However, even after adding it, it does not show up on the page in wp. Here is an example:

http://www.plumpub.com/kaimen/13275-2/ (i tried it on another of my sites, just to make sure it was not site specific.) You can see that there is a large blank space, which is where it should show!

by the way, I think I figured out why the old ones disappeared as soon as I upgraded the plugin: the code is different. Before it did not have the ss_ in the code itself.
[ss_product id='1c22bcd2-8814-11e4-8e20-002590f465c6' sku='semTCFHmar2015' ]Tai Chi For Health Workshop Mar2015[/ss_product]

I am at a loss...for instance, this one shows up:
http://www.reelingsilk.com/academy/2015/01/13/intent-and-shape-boxing-xing-yis-5-elements/

and even wierder, this one showed up yesterday (after not showing up the day before) but does not show up now!

http://www.reelingsilk.com/academy/2014/12/04/seminar-blossoms-in-the-spring-qigong/

Also, not that it really matters, but when searching for the sku, now it comes up as a list again, instead of those gird boxes (don't know how to attach a screenshot, or I would!)

Thanks again,
Debbie

Looks like the problem was a space before the SKU. We've switched the plug-in to use GUID instead of SKU and that appears to have solved the problem. Going forward we'll also have the WordPress plugin remove any spaces at the beginning.

Hi David,
I tried to use the plugin again today and am still having the problem of the item coming up on the wordpress page once the code is inserted. You had mentioned that the problem was an extra space, but I don't see an extra space anywhere in the code, either in the original product sku or in the pasted code. Can you help me to figure out where the 'bad space' is, so I can remove it and use this plug-in? I have tried both the sku and the guid being prominent.

Thanks,
Debbie

Try removing the "s" in "https" in ShopSite callback URL field in the ShopSite configuration settings in wordpress plugin.

Yep! that did it! Is this a bug in shopsite, because I did copy it direct from the social media apps page in shopsite...and should I leave it in the shopsite setup with the "s"?

I don't know about your last question.

For the question about using http instead of https . The iframe that is generated when using https would have to be on a secure page or it will not display. This is because most current browsers won't display any secure content on a non-secure page. When you tried to put the code on http://www.narryecaldwell.com/shopsite-test/ you were putting the secure iframes on a non-secure page.
