Extra Fields for Google Shopping

Postby Jenny » Thu Jul 24, 2014 6:58 am

We have a ShopSite Manager Version 12r2.1 store and have carried over our three extra fields required by Google Shopping some years ago. These are availability, google product category and identifier exists set up under Preferences in our extra fields configuration. This has not been a problem with Google until the new changes which are mandated for September 30. Now we have two new products which we recently added flagged for having too many attributes. Since ShopSite has updated software to include the first two, we no longer need the first two fields. We do however need the third field. Can we simply delete the first two fields under Preferences Extra Fields, leave the third, and change the number of fields to display as 1? Will this change all products accurately and simultaneously? What is the easiest and fastest way to correct this without additional problems with Google? We're concerned that Google has only flagged two new products and not all of them.

Thanks.

What version of ShopSite are you using?

If you are using the Extra product fields for Google feeds then you can indicate which ones to send by going to Merchandising > Google Services > Google Shopping/Merchant Center > Configuration . Near the bottom of the screen in the Indicate Any Attributes That Are To Be Included section uncheck the ones you don't want to send and check the ones you do want to send. (This is assuming that you have entered the appropriate Google name for the field on the Preferences > Extra Fields screen and that you have entered the appropriate data in the field for each product.)
