patches fix some issues with Gift Certificates in v7.1x

Product: Pro
Version: v7.1x
Platform: ALL

I have ShopSite Pro v7.1, v7.1.0, v7.1.1, or v7.1.2 and I have experienced some problems with the Gift Certificate feature, including certificates expiring when I have them set to never expire, and also the 'number of attempts' setting has no effect. Are there patches to resolve this?
Solution ID: S5502

Yes, patches have been released for ShopSite v7.1.2 which resolves this problem. If you have v7.1 or v7.1.0, or v7.1.1 you will need to upgrade to the v7.1.2 maintenance release before applying these patches.

The patch files are located on the ShopSite partners FTP site in the [your_os]/v7.1.2/patch/ directory, so please contact your ShopSite reseller so that they can download and apply this patch for you.

The patch files to get to resolve this issue are:

For Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris SPARC, and IRIX server platforms:
giftcert_conf.cgi
libsscommon.so.1

For BSDi OS 4.x:
giftcert_conf.cgi
order.cgi
thankyou.cgi

For Windows 2000 and 2003 Server platforms:
giftcert_conf.cgi
common.dll

These patches need to replace the files of the same name with the following files in the Shopping Cart CGI Directory (this directory is usually named 'sc' or 'sb') for BSDi platforms:
order.cgi and thankyou.cgi

And the following files in the ShopSite CGI Directory (this directory in usually named 'ss' or 'bo'):
libsscommon.so.1 and giftcert_conf.cgi

For stores on Windows servers place the common.dll patch file in both of the above directories.

After the patches are applied, there will be a link on the Edit Gift Certificate screen in the ShopSite backoffice that will reset a gift certificate to expire either after the specified number of days (from the current date, not the original purchase date) or never depending on the setting on the Gift Certificate Configuration screen.

Also, after applying the patches on all platforms except BSDi, the ShopSite version number will appear as v7.1.3.

These fixes will be included in future versions and maintenance releases.
