Inserting (and editing size of the) search field in custom pages and templates ; Error: "unable to open keyword.gdb"

Product: ShopSite SC
Version: 4.x
Platform: ALL

Is there a way to include and edit the search field in HTML pages I've created? Why am I getting an error message "unable to open keyword.gdb?"
Solution ID: S03801

Add the search field to a ShopSite page and then publish. In the source of that page will be a form section that should look something like this:

The URL should match your shopping basket URL and the store ID references should match your store ID. If you've changed the text of
the "Search" button through Preferences -> Store Text, you will need to replace "Search" with whatever information is in Store Text.

This section may be inserted into your custom HTML to add a search field. The field length may be altered by editing the size value.

Very Important Note: If you copy and paste these search fields into text fields, you still need to have at least one ShopSite page that has a search field assigned to it through the back office. If not, ShopSite won't index and you'll get an "unable to open keyword.gdb" error when searching (see S02667 for additional details).
