Premature end of script headers during order process when using a custom cgi (via the Order API)

Product: Pro
Version: ALL
Platform: ALL

An Internal Server Error (or Server 500 error) is received at the end of the order process when using a custom cgi program with the Order API feature. When I disable the custom cgi by removing its name from the Merchandising -> Order API menu, then orders are placed successfully. What could be the problem>

Solution ID: S03711

Enabling a custom cgi specified in Order API, results in the error occurs: Premature end of script headers To diagnose the problem, substitute "custom_dump.pl" which is provided in the shopping cart directory.

If this script runs without the Premature end of script headers, the problem is due to the custom cgi that was developed not running properly.

Review the Order API Specification in the online documentation at http://www.shopsite.com/help/ to determine if the custom cgi is written to the specification. The ShopSite User Forum at http://support.shopsite.com/forums is another resource to collaborate with other developers and ShopSite merchants on such issues as developing custom CGIs.
