How do I configure the Reports feature on ShopSite for Windows 2000, 2003, or 2008 Servers?

Solution ID: S03513

To view the Web Server statistics (hits, pages viewed, etc.) from ShopSite, the site needs to be configured in its IIS preferences to log hits in the NCSA format. To set the logging format:

1. From the task bar, click Start/Programs/Microsoft Internet Server/Internet Service Manager.
2. Right click on the store's Website, enable logging and make sure that NCSA format is selected.
3. Click on Properties.
4. Note the directory specified on this screen as the "Log file directory". Also note the below setting for "Log file name". The log file name should be something like "ncsa#.log".
5. In the Configure Reports section of the ShopSite back office, there is a setting for "Server log file path" and "Server log filename". Put the settings from #4 in this field. If the log file name from the IIS preferences was like 'ncsa#.log' (the default), then for the 'Server log filename' setting in ShopSite's config menu enter 'ncsa*.log' (minus the quotes).
