Why am I getting a "Failure in Cryptographic library" or an Internal Server Error screen when I try to process orders with my new CyberCash account?

Product: SC
Version: 4.3, 5.x
Platform: ALL

I'm trying to set up a new CyberCash account. When I try to process orders with a live credit card, I get an internal server error screen or else a credit card processing error screen with:

"Detailed error message:
Location: CCMckDirectLib; Message: Failure in Cryptographic library"

The order will go through fine if CyberCash is turned off (and Manual is set as the processor), or if you're using the test CyberCash values.

Which error you get depends on the platform that is running ShopSite. Both of these errors are usually the result of entering the wrong information in the fields under the screen at Commerce Setup > Payment > CyberCash/Configure Processor (payconfig.cgi). These steps should help resolve:
1. Review the help by selecting the red circle with the question mark in the upper right corner of that ShopSite screen OR check under your version of ShopSite at:
http://www.shopsite.com/help/
ShopSite Screen Reference > Commerce Setup > Payment Setup > CyberCash

2. Depending on the font used, it's very easy to mistake numbers or letters in the Merchant Key field. Examples include confusing a lowercase "L" with the number "one" (l vs 1) or an uppercase letter "O" with the number zero (O vs 0). Try cutting and pasting the Merchant Key directly from a CyberCash screen or e-mail message rather than typing it into the ShopSite field.

3. Confirm each field carefully with the CyberCash representative who helped to set up your account. Regenerating the Merchant Key may also fix.
