backoffice A term sometimes used to refer to the ShopSite merchant admin screens.
Custom Templates ShopSite Custom Templates are a powerful tool, designed to give merchants and designers complete control over the appearance of a ShopSite Manager or ShopSite Pro store. Google Checkout A hosted payment method provided by Google. You can use Google Checkout by itself, or in addition to payment collected directly on your website. If a shopper chooses to pay using the Google Checkout option, they will be redirected from your cart to the Google Checkout site to complete the payment transaction (Google Checkout accepts most major credit cards). Requires merchants to have a Google Checkout seller account, see https://checkout.google.com
Manager As in ShopSite Manager. This is a ShopSite product level that has an unlimited number of Pages and Products, as well as additional features not included in the ShopSite Starter level. ShopSite Manager is great for merchants with many products, but who do not currently need the advanced features of ShopSite Pro.
partner As in ShopSite partner. Although some merchants have purchased ShopSite licenses directly from ShopSite, Inc., most ShopSite stores are sold through ShopSite reseller partners, who are generally hosting providers. Support for merchants purchasing through ShopSite partner is provided by the partner. There are many different ShopSite partners all over the US and also internationally who offer many different hosting packages, services, and ShopSite pricing. Platform The OS (operating system) that is used on the server where your site is hosted. Server operating systems supported by ShopSite (as of ShopSite v10) are: Linux, FreeBSD, Windows 2000 and 2003 Server, and Solaris SPARC. You can check the OS value in the Preferences -> Hosting Service menu in your ShopSite backoffice to determine your platform, or contact your hosting provider. If a knowledgebase article indicates it is for 'Platform: ALL', then that solution applies to all ShopSite-supported OS platforms.
Pro As in ShopSite Pro. This is the highest ShopSite product level that has unlimited Pages and Products, and all available ShopSite features. ShopSite Pro is great for stores that need advanced features such as coupons, digital downloads, product search, discounts, inventory tracking, and associates.
Product As in ShopSite product level. This includes Starter, Manager, and Pro. If a knowledgebase article is for 'Product: ALL', this means it applies to all of these product levels. To check the product level of your ShopSite, click the green 'ShopSite' tab on the upper left-hand corner of the ShopSite backoffice navbar and it will take you to the main ShopSite menu (start.cgi) where you will see the complete version number, product level, and your storeid in the center of the footer at the bottom of this menu.
products Item you sell. With ShopSite you can sell physical goods as well as downloadable files (in ShopSite Pro). ShopSite is used by many merchants to sell a wide variety of products. For examples, see the Featured Stores at http://www.shopsite.com/featuredstores/

Starter As in ShopSite Starter. This is a ShopSite product level that has a restricted number of Page and Product records (usually limited to 5 pages and 15 products), as well as fewer features than the other product levels, Manager and Pro. ShopSite Starter is great for merchants just starting out or stores that don't have many products.
Version As in the number version of ShopSite. To check the version of your ShopSite, click the green 'ShopSite' tab on the upper left-hand corner of the ShopSite backoffice navbar and it will take you to the main ShopSite menu (start.cgi) where you will see the complete version number, product level, and your storeid in the center of the footer at the bottom of this menu.
